Dr. Daoud joins Elite Gastro following his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Brookdale University Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, where he trained on a high-volume consult service and performed a broad range of endoscopic procedures.
His clinical interests center on inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, and preventive gastroenterology. Before fellowship, he spent a year as a gastroenterology research fellow at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville under Dr. Francis Farraye, where his work on Crohn’s disease, hepatitis B vaccination in IBD patients, and endoscopic management of luminal strictures was published in journals including the Journal of Crohn’s and Colitis, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, and Digestive Diseases and Sciences.
Dr. Daoud also completed a year as chief resident in internal medicine, and has a long-standing interest in teaching residents and medical students. He additionally completed a liver transplant rotation at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, caring for patients before and after transplant.
Outside of medicine, he is a lifelong soccer and table tennis player, enjoys travelling in Europe, and is an enthusiastic cook with a particular fondness for charcoal grilling.
